Birmingham German Market

Paul took me to the Birmingham German Market in December 2010 and 2012. What I remember most on those two occasions was the number of people that were there and trying to get through all those people to at least see parts of the German Market felt like an endurance test. It was so crowded in some areas of the market, you felt like you were not moving at all, literally wall to wall of people. Also, we lucked out in the weather on both occasions but even though it was cold, it was not cold enough that we needed to leave immediately. It surprised Paul how easily I got cold since I was not used to the English weather wet. He always made sure I was warm. I loved the fact that Paul never let go of my hand or coat unless we were drinking or eating something for he did not want to lose me. I do remember in 2011 we were in line to get sausage on a bread roll or something like that at one of the food booth and it took forever. We actually tried going another route for there was no distinct line for ordering at that booth all. No organized queuing at all as the English would say;). However, the other route we tried to take took us even longer but in the end we did get them. I think it took us almost 30 minutes or so to get the sausage sandwiches, crazy. I did buy couple of things which I took back home to the states for in a few weeks I was going home for Christmas. Paul being the gentleman that he was carried my bags. He would not allow me to carry the bags at all, even if I tried arguing with him. I lost.....lol;).. Knowing we will not do this again saddens me but having him take me two years in a row, I will not forget. xxxxx
